PULAU PINANG, 22 January 2024 - Deputy Minister of Defence, YB Adly bin Zahari, attended the Veteran MyWira Programme Launching Ceremony at the Setia Spice Convention Centre, Pulau Pinang.
The programme, a collaboration between the Ministry of Human Resources and the Ministry of Defence, was officially inaugurated by YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources, and YB Adly bin Zahari, who represented the Minister of Defence.Â
The Ministry of Defence fully supports this initiative, which aims to provide wider training and second career opportunities for Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Veterans through a strategic partnership between PERHEBAT (Ex-Servicemen Corporation) and Talent Corp.
As part of the pilot project, Talent Corp aims to facilitate 500 job placements for veterans with potential industry partners. Initially, Micron Memory Malaysia will offer training and career opportunities to 25-50 MAF personnel nearing retirement in March 2024.
This program aligns with the Government's goal of encouraging government agencies, GLCs, GLICs, and the private sector to actively contribute to providing sustainable career opportunities for veterans in recognition of their service to the nation.
