The address was delivered by the Minister of Defence, YB Datuk Seri Hj. Mohamed Khaled Nordin, at the Wisma Pertahanan Auditorium.

In his address, YB Minister of Defence highlighted five (5) main focal points for 2024. The first focus is to ensure that the national defence system is not only consistently prepared but also commands respect from both allies and adversaries. This involves three primary strategies: enhancing military assets, strengthening expertise, and developing the national defence support ecosystem.

The second focus centers on developing and updating more contemporary defence planning, while the third focuses on welfare and capacity building. Patriotism is identified as the fourth focus, emphasizing it as the nation's best defence by instilling patriotic spirit among the younger generation. Lastly, Malaysia's commitment to global peace is emphasized as a key priority for the ministry this year.

During the event, a new Corporate Image for the Ministry of Defence was launched, reflecting MINDEF's direction towards modernization. The logo design symbolizes the ministry's commitment to common values such as integrity, efficiency, and professionalism in fulfilling its responsibilities.
