LANGKAWI, 23 Mei 2023 - Minister of Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Utama Hj Mohamad bin Hj Hasan was officiated Chiefs of Navy Roundtable Talk (CNRT) held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre in conjunction with LIMA 2023.

The CNRT has always been one of Maritime Segment’s key activities at every edition of LIMA and this year’s theme is ‘The Future of Naval Technology in a Changing Security Landscape: Global and Regional Trends’.

The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform for all participants to discuss on a specific topic in order to obtain knowledge and experience by means of exchanging ideas.

During the Defence Minister’s speech, one of his emphasis was that “the Navy needs to be modernised – being constantly up to date with the latest breakthroughs in new and evolving naval technology. Failure to do so would only invite difficulties and hardships for our sailors and our people. In essence, a modern Navy is essential for a modern economy.”

The CNRT recorded an attendance of 90 participants, mainly Chiefs of Navy as well as representatives from 26 nations and also officials of local government agencies and academics.
